MKV vs MP4
MKV (Matroska) is a flexible container popular with screen recorders like OBS, because it doesn't lose the whole recording if the program crashes. But iPhones, many smart TVs, video editors and social networks don't accept MKV. Converting to MP4 makes the file work everywhere.
OBS recordings
OBS records to MKV by default. After converting to MP4 you can edit the recording, upload it to YouTube, or compress it for sharing. Kliprio uses the first video and audio track; extra audio tracks and subtitle tracks are not included in the MP4.

Will I lose quality converting MKV to MP4?
Kliprio re-encodes with a high bitrate, so the difference isn't visible in normal viewing.
What happens to multiple audio tracks?
Kliprio keeps the main audio track. Additional audio and subtitle tracks are left out.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Kliprio runs entirely in your browser using your device's built-in video encoder. Your file is never sent to a server, so it stays private and nothing is stored on our side.
