The right size for TikTok
TikTok is designed for full-screen vertical video in a 9:16 shape. The recommended size is 1080×1920 pixels. When you upload a horizontal video, TikTok shows it small in the middle of the screen with big empty areas, which looks out of place in the feed.
Horizontal video to vertical
For a landscape clip, you have two choices. Fill the frame crops to the center of your video so it fills the whole phone screen. This works well when the action is in the middle. Fit whole video keeps everything and adds bars above and below, which leaves room to add text in TikTok's editor.
After resizing
You can upload the file directly in the TikTok app or on tiktok.com. If you want to trim the clip first, the trimmer passes your video straight back to this tool.
